Arctic Import and Hørkram Foodservice First CSR Partners for Dana Cup
Arctic Import and Hørkram Foodservice have become the first to enter into an official CSR partnership with Dana Cup, one of the country's largest football tournaments. Both Arctic Import and Hørkram Foodservice are actively working towards the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, which include promoting gender equality through sports. Consequently, the CSR partnership includes a sponsorship of two girls' teams from Greenland, both participating in Dana Cup at the end of July.
With offices in Nuuk, Tórshavn, and Aalborg, the trading company Arctic Import has a strong presence in the North Atlantic market for foodservice, groceries, and everyday goods. Similarly, Hørkram Foodservice is one of Denmark's largest catering wholesalers. These common interfaces have now led the companies to join forces in a CSR partnership with the country's largest and Scandinavia’s third-largest football tournament, Dana Cup.
As part of the partnership, Arctic Import and Hørkram support two girls' teams, B-67 (G13 and G12), from Greenland in their participation in Dana Cup 2024. The sponsorship covers all costs associated with accommodation and dining for these talented young footballers throughout the tournament.
This initiative, the first CSR partnership for Dana Cup, underscores the companies' commitment to supporting and developing youth sports, especially for girls, who often do not have as easy access to sponsorships as boys. The sponsorship ensures that the young girls have the opportunity to pursue their passion for football in an environment characterized by respect, cohesion, equality, and friendship.
"Our commitment to Dana Cup is more than just a sponsorship action. It's part of our core values to strengthen communities and promote equal opportunities," explains Henrik Kronborg, Sales Director at Arctic Import. "It is wonderful to be part of such a meaningful project where we can directly contribute to empowering young athletes and particularly girls' teams, highlighting the importance of equality in sports and the unique opportunities it provides," he adds.
John Astrup, Center Director and CEO-Nordic at Hørkram, also notes: "Our commitment to Dana Cup and the young athletes' sporting dreams is a clear signal of our dedication to social responsibility and community engagement."
Thomas Gaardsøe, Partner and Event Manager at Dana Cup, is likewise excited to welcome both partners to the Dana Cup family: "Arctic Import and Hørkram bring valuable support and vision to our event, and their participation strengthens our work with the global goals and our efforts to promote equality through sports," he says.
