Bringing new life to Tórshavns City Center
In January 2023, the Municipality of Tórshavn adopted a new master plan for the city center. The project, known as “Byhaven” (The City Garden), is a long-term urban plan aimed at creating more life and activity in the heart of Tórshavn. Arctic Import is proud to be part of this exciting development by delivering playgrounds from Kompan to the landscaping company Grønt&Grátt, which has overseen the installations.
Our contribution includes two projects:
• A recreational area in the city center, designed to provide residents with a green retreat
• A playground for the Miðstovnurin kindergarten, which is also located centrally in the city
These playgrounds are not just physical structures but are meant to create environments for play, learning, and social interaction for the children of Tórshavn. We are proud to have supplied products that support this vision and look forward to following the projects as they develop.
