From the architect’s vision to a finished interior
Once an interior architect has set the direction, the work begins to turn that vision into something that works in practice.
That was also the task when Tusass was furnishing its new post office in Nuuk. ATM Design (All That Matters) was responsible for the interior concept, design and colour scheme, while Arctic Import Living was tasked with bringing the vision to life.
The project covered several different areas of the post office: the entrance and customer area, workspaces, staff facilities and canteen. Spaces with different functions and requirements, but all designed to form part of the same overall concept.
From design to concrete solutions
With the architect's design as the starting point, our Living team began turning the ideas into concrete products and solutions.
Arctic Import Living was responsible for the loose furnishings for the project, while ATM Design was responsible for the fixed furnishings.
Some elements of our delivery were carefully defined in advance. In other areas, our task was to find furniture and solutions that matched the architect's aesthetic and functional requirements as closely as possible.
And then there were the solutions that could not simply be found in a catalogue. Among other things, planters were custom-made for the project to ensure they fitted into the overall design.
Our task was not simply to order furniture. We had to understand the architect's vision and work out how best to bring it to life. That required product knowledge, a strong supplier network and the ability to find alternative solutions when the right product was not readily available.

The right solution requires the right partnerships
For us, being an interior solutions partner is not about finding products on a list. It is about understanding the bigger picture and finding solutions that bring design, function and quality together.
That requires knowledge of the market, access to the right suppliers and, not least, the ability to find another way when a standard solution does not fit the project.
In this way, Arctic Import Living acts as the link between idea and reality, helping to turn the architect's ideas into solutions that can be realised.
From the drawing board to reality in a short time
The project also had a very tight schedule leading up to the opening of the new post office.
This required careful coordination throughout the process, from selecting and adapting products to production and delivery. With many different elements and suppliers involved, everything had to come together at the right time.
The schedule was tight, so it required really good cooperation all the way through. Everyone contributed when solutions had to be found, and that meant we were able to get everything ready in time for the opening.
