Arctic Import and REMA 1000 enter new CSR partnership with Dana Cup 2025 – Supporting Greenlandic girls' football talents

Arctic Import and REMA 1000 have entered a new CSR partnership with Dana Cup, making it possible for even more young girls from Greenland to experience one of the world’s largest and most recognized youth football tournaments.

Dana Cup continues its efforts to make youth football accessible to everyone. In 2025, the tournament will once again take place from July 21–26 and will bring together more than 34,400 participants, volunteers, supporters, and referees, as over 1,000 teams from 50 nations meet in Hjørring for a week filled with football, community, and new experiences.

As part of our shared focus on social responsibility, sustainability, and the development of young talents, Arctic Import and REMA 1000 have chosen to sponsor a Greenlandic girls' team, giving them the opportunity to participate in Dana Cup 2025. The sponsorship covers tournament fees, accommodation, meals, and travel gear, ensuring the team can take part without financial barriers.

“For us, this partnership is not just about a sponsorship. It’s an investment in young people and their communities,” says Henrik Kronborg, Sales Director at Arctic Import.

“Football creates unity and develops important skills – and at the same time, it’s a great opportunity to highlight the importance of gender equality in sports. We are proud to give a Greenlandic girls’ team the chance to participate in Dana Cup and experience an international football environment.”

Dana Cup is one of the world’s largest youth football tournaments and one of the few that brings together players from so many different countries. The tournament also attracts a large audience, with more than 20,000 daily visitors experiencing the unique atmosphere. Football is the core element, but Dana Cup is also about creating life-changing experiences for young people.

With our involvement, we at Arctic Import want to show how companies can make a real difference by helping to create social, cultural, and educational opportunities for young people. This partnership is an example of how the business world can support ESG principles and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through sport.

We support Dana Cup’s increased focus on CSR and encourage more companies to take part in this effort. Partnerships like this show how businesses can make a tangible difference for young people while working strategically with ESG, sustainability, and social initiatives.
